Dr. Hockett was a lawyer from the East who came out to Wyoming and was trapping in the mountains.  After marrying Rosalie Seiloff, he began to practice law again.  Rosalie was a teacher and served as County Superintendent of Schools for 17 years.  She taught high school Math and, although she looked stern, her students say she was a kind, good teacher and they remember her fondly.  They secretly called her 'Buttercup.'
