Coach Joel Eskelsen Comments:

Big plays by Lyman and missed opportunities spelled the cause of the loss. Three Lyman scores were long yardage plays and a fourth was set up by a 57 yd run to the 2 yd line. On the reverse side, the Punchers had opportunities but dropped passes and some defensive mental errors worked against us.

Overall, the defense played exceptionally well except for those big plays. Seth Linn had 18 defensive points. Parker Greenwood and Brett Moffat had over 15 points each, and Greenwood and Parks recovered Lyman fumbles.

Offensively, the Punchers finally looked better than in previous games. Linn and Greenwood led the runners with 91 and 70 yds respectively. Greenwood also caught 3 passes for 39 yds. Linn had 3 receives for 29 yds. Moffat completed 8 of 16 for 83 yds and a TD.

As the schedule progresses, the Punchers will need to win two of the last three in hopes of hosting a play-off game. This week starts that goal with the Kemmerer Rangers coming to Big Piney for a 2:00 Homecoming game. Kemmerer stands at 3-2 after losing its Homecoming game this past week to Riverside. Both Big Piney and Kemmerer stand 1-1 in conference play and this Friday’s game is an important conference match-up.
