Charlie Howerton's Barber Shop
1998
In 1922 Charlie Howerton opened his barber shop in a corner
of the Big Piney
Bar. In 1926 he built his own barber shop along with his wife
who had the first beauty salon in Big Piney. After Charlie died,
she married Frank Shipley. She continued operating a beauty salon
for more than forty years.
